Executive Board

The Menands School PTA needs YOU! Our PTA can only continue to offer programs, events, and support for our students and teachers because of the dedication of our members and volunteers.

We are seeking parents/guardians interested in serving on the PTA Executive Board for a 2-year term beginning July 1, 2026. 

Open Positions:

• President: Leads and guides the PTA for the year. Helps set goals, works with school staff and families, runs PTA meetings, and makes sure events and plans move forward successfully.

• Vice President: Supports the President and helps lead the PTA. Steps in when the President is unavailable and often helps coordinate events, volunteers, or committees.

• Treasurer: Manages the PTA budget. Keeps accurate financial records, helps prepare the budget, pays bills, and reports on how funds are used.

• Secretary: Keeps PTA meeting minutes and keeps important documents organized. Sends out meeting notes and helps with communication.

You don’t need prior PTA experience, just a willingness to collaborate and support our school community. Serving on the board is a meaningful way to make a difference, meet other families, and have a voice in the great things happening at Menands School.

The Nominating Committee is accepting names of interested candidates to be presented for election at the PTA General Membership Meeting on Wednesday, June 3, at 6:30 PM.

All conversations with the committee are confidential.

General Responsibilities: All board members are expected to attend Executive Board meetings, Membership meetings, assist with PTA events, and keep in contact via email in between meetings to address any issues that arise. All positions should keep their records/notes/documents and make them available for new officers. They should also attend training/conferences provided by the NYS PTA when able.
