WELCOME TO OUR PARENTS' CORNER

Dear Menands School families:

We have an open position for the PTA Executive Board beginning on July 1, 2019. The PTA can only exist with the help of our members and volunteers that keep our programs going. Currently, we have an open position for the role of Vice President and the term is for 2 years. The Nominating Committee will be meeting soon to select a nominee to be presented at the elections meeting to be held on Wednesday, June 5th at 6:30 in the Menands school library. If you would like to be considered for the position by the Nominating Committee during its deliberations please fill out the included form. To make an informed decision we put together a summary of what the position would encompass below.

After all nomination forms have been received, a member of the nominating committee will contact you to discuss your interest and speak in detail about what each position entails. If you have any questions you can ask them at that time. Anything you discuss with the committee is confidential. Please use the enclosed recommendation forms and submit them in an envelope marked “Nominating Committee” or Courtney Jaskula to the school’s main office no later than Friday, May 10th. You must be a PTA member to be nominated for the position. You can become a member by filling out a form in the front office or from our website, menandsschoolpta.com. If you have any other questions you can contact us at menandsschoolpta@gmail.com.

Members of the Nominating Committee are: Courtney Jaskula, Stephanie Else and Madalyn Royal.

Duties of the PTA Vice President:

- Act as aide to the president.

- Perform the duties of the president in the absence or inability of that officer to act. In order to perform the duties of the president, a person must be at least 18 years of age.

*All positions should keep their records/notes/documents and make them available if/when needed to the new officers. All members are expected to attend Executive Board meetings, General Membership meetings, assist with PTA events, and keep in contact via email in between meetings to address any issues that arise. They should also attempt to attend trainings/conferences provided by the NYS PTA whenever able. Thank you in advance for your interest in our school’s PTA!
